Artist Guide - Creating a Google+ Profile
7 Steps to Using Google+ for Your Art
Google+ is a very new social network, with lots of cool features, and many more to be added in the near future. They have recently added pages… which are very useful since they are integrated with Google search. Here are some steps to setup your own Google Plus page.
Creating a Google+ Page for Art
First of all, login to your Google+ account, and go to the homepage. In the top left side of the page, near you profile picture is the link to create a new page. Click it, then click on “Create a Page”.
On the next page you can select the proper category for your artist page. Simply click “Arts, Entertainment or Sports”. You will be asked to input your new page name, a website (this can be any link of your choosing, even your Facebook page if you have one), and a category. If you are an artist, choose “Visual and Performing Arts”. After you check the little box to agree to the page terms, simply click “Create”.
On the next page create a descriptive tagline for your new page, then upload a new profile photo. Click continue once more.
The next page gives you the option of sharing your new page with your circles. You can skip this step for now if you like, an do it after your artist page is completely setup. Click “Finish” at the bottom and your page is public.
Now you are on your newly created Google+ page. There are some features that I will focus on here that may be of benefit to you.
