The abstract oil painting Impediment refers to being held back or hindered from progressing. There are many things in life that holds us back in different situations. I've had many impediments in my life, many of which I have managed to overcome with sheer determination. There are still obstacles which still impede me though -  there probably will always be. So, sometimes I have to just accept defeat and live with it... :)
