This is a surreal painting (below) I completed in art school way back in 1997. This artwork began with a painting of two separate models, in two separate studio sessions. After the oil paint dried, I went back into the painting, distorting the forms, and added several symbolic elements. Accredited online artcolleges can teach you more about surrealism and abstraction.
